Economic Research Center presented the results of prices of statistical observation for November 2011
Economic Research Center (ERC) presents the results of prices of statistical observation conducted in 10 regions of Azerbaijan in November with financial support of the Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation. The results of statistical observations show that the consumer price index has been increased by 1, 95 % within November in Azerbaijan. During this time the price of food products increased by 3, 69 %, of non-food products by 0.21% and of services by 0.05%.During the month of November compared to October, the consumer price index through the capital and the regions, increased by 2, 22 % in Baku and by 1,68 % in regions. Price of good products increased by 4, 16 % in Baku, by 3,23 % in regions.
Price of non-good products increased by 0, 13 % and by 0,30 %, and price of services increased by 0,04 % and by 0,06 %. During November, the most significant rise in price was observed among tomatoes (47,40 %), cucumber (43,18 %), milk product (4,15 %). In spite of a general price increase, decrease in prices of some goods and services was registered. For example, price of lemon decreased by 5.91 %, of cut board by 4.48 %, of clothes for woman by 2, 42 %.
Compared with the same period of the last year (12 months), 13, 53 % increase in prices was registered in the country. In this time prices in Baku increased by 17, 67 % and by 9, 45 % in the regions. In the mentioned period, the highest inflation was registered in food products (22, 27 %). Non-food products increased by 3,53%, and services by 4,65 %.
On January- November 2011 consumer price index increased by 11.18%, including increase of good products by 18.08 %,of non-good products by 2,94 %,and of services by 4,36 %.
Based on the regulations approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on April 30, 2009, experts of ERC also calculate the value of the minimum consumer basket for each month. According to these estimates, in November for the able-bodied population of Azerbaijan, per capita value of the minimum consumer basket totaled AZN 168, 69, for pensioners - AZN 151, 93, and for 0-14 aged children -AZN 210, 87. Last month, able-bodied population of Azerbaijan spent minimum 104, 14 AZN, pensioners -AZN 94, 49, parents of 0-14 aged children–AZN 119,98, on food per capita. During that month, working population of Azerbaijan spent minimum AZN 39,23, pensioners –AZN 35,00, parents of children 0-14 aged –AZN 73,33 ,on non-food goods per capita, and respectively on services working population spent AZN 25.32 per capita , pensioners -AZN 22.44 and parents of 0-14 aged children–AZN 17.56.
Remind that, according to the law “About subsistence minimum in the Republic of Azerbaijan for the year of 2011”,the subsistence minimum in Azerbaijan for the year of 2011 was determined as AZN 95, for the able-bodied population- AZN 102, for pensioners -AZN 72 and for children-AZN 76.
