The training on “Visualization of statistical data and descriptive statistics” was conducted for think tanks
Economic Research Center ( ERC) arranged “Visualization of statistical data and descriptive statistics” training within the framework of “Enhancing the effectiveness of government by strengthening the role of think tanks in decision-making arena” project funded by European Union (EU) and in partnership with Policy Association for an Open Society ( PASOS) and “Intelligent Citizen” Enlightenment Center (ICEC) on July 29-30. The main aim of the project was to increase the research capacities, use statistical software packages to produce tables and graphs presenting research findings to general audience, including analyze and process the collected data. The training was conducted by GurselAliyev, the head of Caucasus Research Resource Center. This training was attended by about 25 representatives of 18 partner non-governmental organizations operating in Ganja, Shaki and Baku. The delivery remarks were made by member of ERC Management Board GubadIbadoglu and he also talked about the project per se and objective of the training.
On the first day of the training, the trainer covered “Key terms and concepts of statistics” and “Systematization and presentation of quantitive data methods” topics. On the second day of the training, “Abuses upon visualization of statistical data and frequently encountered errors”, “Average indicators”, “Variation of parameters” and “The five-indicator graphs” topics in order to increase the knowledge and capacities of the attendees. Besides, the participants were involved to plenary sessions and working groups in order to acquire practical knowledge of covered topics. Training also covered errors made during data collection, survey questionnaire, installation of data in Excel file such as Histogram, Steam and Leaf, Scatter Plot and analyzing Summary table. 
It should be noted that some organizations were represented by two persons due to their avid interest to the training.
