Assessment of Open Government will be conducted
The implementation of commitments taken by Azerbaijan government on Open Government Partnership will be monitored. The main aim of the monitoring is to assess the implemented activities on “National Action Plan on Open Government Initiative2012-2015” endorsed by the Presidential Decree of the 5th September 2012.
A specific monitoring methodology was prepared with involvement of foreign experts within the frames of the project and well-known NGOs of Azerbaijan with organization support of USAID and Transparency Azerbaijan. The seminar was organized at the office of Economic Research Center, one of the implementers of the project in order to demonstrate the methodology to project experts. During the seminar, the methodology that allows assessing freedom of information, e-services, enlargement of the public participation in the activity of the state institutions, One Stop Shop, Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative were explained to the experts. The head of Transparency Azerbaijan RanaSafaraliyeva, noted that the results of the monitoring will be revealed in international level and this process will be carried on for four years.
The experts noted that the information base of report will be submitted to state agencies and it will be formulated based on multiple information inquiries. This means that those agencies will be responsible for the position of Azerbaijan on implementation of Open Government Partnership in international arena.
