The details on cooperation between ERC and Balakan and Oguz municipalities were defined
Economic Research Center ( ERC) conducted discussion with working groups within the framework of “Intra-community cooperation and dialogue for community development” project funded by “ British Council” on April 29 and 30 in Hanifa municipality of Balakan region and May 01 Oguz city municipality.
The members and employees of municipality, representatives of NGOs and community members, including members of Resource Group attended to the meeting held at Hanifa municipality. Galib Togrul, the expert of ERC delivered presentation dedicated to the outcomes of survey conducted based on the methodology of Citizen Report Card. The citizens’ prior problems were related to sewage system, replace of outdated electric posts and provision of gas.
After the presentation, the outcomes of survey were discussed among local citizens. It was decided that construction of roads among villages are priority issue. It was decided to involve citizens to this process, distribute work hours and define the funds to be allocated by the municipality.
As coming to the meeting held at the conference hall of Oguz City Municipality on May 01, the representative of Oguz region Executive Committee Elshan Yunusov, head of Oguz region Youth and Sport entity Ramiz Mahmudov, employee of Oguz region Education department Rashad Abbasov, including deputy chairman of Oguz City Municipality Arif Aliyev and representatives of local NGOs and members of city municipality attended to this event.
The topic of the meeting was on “ The problems of youth managing effectively their free times”. As a result of the discussions it was decided to prevent youths from harmful habits, creation of book club within Resource Center in Oguz city aimed to effectively manage the spare time of local youths and arrange the regular meeting of youths in this center.
At the same time, it was planned to arrange meeting with active youths of Oguz region jointly with Oguz Youth and Sport entity on the second half of May in order to disclose the interests of youths.
